After being closed for 941 days, the renovated Huntington Theatre in Boston re-opened on October 10, 2022!
The goal of the renovation and expansion project was to restore and update the historic architecture, integrate modern amenities, and create a backstage that operates with contemporary theatrical technology. A dynamic 14,000 square-foot multi-story audience engagement center serves as the theatre’s new entrance and incorporates ticketing services, cafe, additional performance and event venues, and new balcony. Renovations included new seating, dressing rooms, rehearsal and event room, and the building’s entrance. Altieri designed all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems to serve the updated theatre.
