The project at Long Dock Park included a complete restoration of the historic barn and the addition of the new Kayak Pavilion which serves as kayak storage for community paddlers.  Updates to the barn included heating and cooling system, fire protection systems, a new elevator, and all new electrical systems.  Heating and cooling was accomplished with a variable flow refrigerant (VRF) system and a whole-house fan enabling the center to be cooled utilizing natural ventilation during moderate weather. The Pavilion was designed with infrastructure to support a 10kW photovoltaic array on the roof.  The photovoltaic system was integrated with the River Center’s electrical system.
